Multi-Cut Blanking | Slitting Operations
Riverview Steel’s 100,000 square foot production facility features all state-of-the-art equipment, and is highlighted by an Alcos Precision Multi-Cut Blanking Line. The line provides a fast, efficient means of creating precision leveled blanks from coil. Our multi-cut blanker is utilized primarily for Automotive Exposed material. It can accommodate coils with widths up to 72″ and a weight of 60,000 pounds. Inline crop shearing and an auto scrap disposal system ensure that over gauge strip does not pass through the leveler. The line leveling system can produce flat panels in a variety of configurations for surface critical material. Plus, a user-friendly control panel and CRT monitors allow complete operator control over the multi-cut blanking line.

Our building features an Alcos Automotive Exposed, 72″ high-speed slitter featuring a three slitter head injection system with shimless tooling to ensure consistent and accurate slit width product. This state-of-the-art slitter also monitors and reports material gaurges during the slitting process using an advanced Gamma Ray system. In order to add to our customer quality service, this equipment features a seven roll back-up shape correction leveling system, with a gauge range of .012 to .079 thickness. Additionally we use a give roll back-up core flex leveling system, with a gauge range of .079 to .250. In order to maximize production capacity, a 72″ double turret recoiler system enables plan production efficiency of 75% greater than conventional slitting.

To better manage material flow, a third production line was acquired. This line is also a 72″automotive exposed unit, manufactured by by Pro Eco Ltd. This Pro Eco high-speed slitter also has a three slitter head injection system, as well as an advanced gauging system that will monitor and report consistent gauges while the material is in process. In order to excel in our commitment to our customer quality requirements, the addition of the Pro Eco unit enables our production planning employees to dedicate all automotive exposed and surface critical materials to the Alcos and all non-automotive to the Pro Eco. This strategy has added efficiencies largely to our plant scheduling as well as gains in our product quality, ensuring our just-in-time customer service, along with our 100% on-time delivery requirements.
